I agree that rights are being eroded at an accelerated rate (which in and of its self is cause for alarm) But I do not think that the "companies" deserve all of the blame, I lay that at the feet of the "polititians"/government in that they are
1) creating the laws
2) allowing the monopolies
3) pushing the agenda of the lobbyist, which are set in place by some companies, and special interest groups
I view the Courts, the Legislative, and Executive Branchs as the ultimate betrayers here because each and everyone took an oath to Uphold/Defend the Constitution not figure out ways around it, or put in more controls on what was supposed to be a free market... if they where doing their jobs the "company" mind set (Record Labels as a great example, and the Artist as well) would not be what it is today (entitlement and protectionist)... They became what they where taught by action or inaction of the government.
And i have to say we the People get to share a portion of the blame as well, we allowed them to keep doing the same things and find more ways around rights, and teaching kids to be "entitled" to things... then the wheels came off and bang now everyone is mad... We should have forced this issue in the 80's and 90s we would be less indebt and they would have much less power than now.
Think about this when they banned drinking in the US, it took a Constitutional Ammendment (because the Government rightly believed that they did not have the power to ban anything with out Ammending and the consent of the States) but after that was squashed and depression hit they banned things left/right/and center, no Ammendments to the Constitution needed.../div>
Commander Mike, when do you order the attack...LOL
Seriously for a second: while I agree almost anyside of a debate has reactionaries and downright crazies, I really wish we could find away to keep them out of the light (on both sides) it would go along way in bringing together bothsides to make a "deal" both can live with.
The mis-guided idiots always get heard loudest (thanks for thier headline grabbing ability, and the fact we all click, or read for the humor content) but what they really do is entrench both sides from working together to solve a problem (you see it in the US Congress R's V.s. D's, and on every single big issue, patent, copyright, trademark, you name it)/div>
Thermite on the HD, 5 bad passwords on the laptop, hits the magnesium fuse, and wow how did that happen... what do you mean the data's gone? must be a fault with Sony :) plus the person checking it is now running around with their pants on fire...
Anarchy will live long on the internet as the geeks, crackers, haxers, and now the average citizen looking for ways to screw with the powers that want to control it...
And lets be totally honest... ACTA horrible horrible piece of garbage, but when it comes down to it who really knows the internet... Big Media... Nope.. the Government... Nope... those same Geeks, Crackers, and Haxors... I say we just post up the ACTA to 4chan and let them at it: EPIC i tell ya.../div>
Sorry but as is clearly evident in Europe (for the most part), England (especially), and America (even more than England)... The politicians and thier toadies are here for one thing only, protect the corporate interests of their masters, or turn things into a socialist welfare state... None of them (as is supposed to be the case in this enlightented time) represent the people or the interest of the people just Power and MONEY...
And any comments as such that some of the dimwitted will swallow is good enough... thus the big push to censor and control the interweb, the facts come out and dont go away, which shines lights where "they" would rather people not look./div>
Domino's, Papa Johns, and Pizza Hut should be sued for Gross mis-representation of what they sell, its not pizza, its not food, its cardboard, red sauce, and a some packing foam made to look like greasy cheese...
Kinda like MRE's - 3 Lies for the price of 1, not meals, not ready, not edible. Same can be said of the others.
I always make a bee line for the hole-in-the wall Mom and Pop place if i am not in my home city, always the best pizza's to be had...
And for you CA and NY lovers, sorry but heres the absolute truth, Chicago is the place for Pizza, sorry, ive been to all 3 and Chicago wins everytime./div>
Well it could be said that Lobbyist use Dollars to overthrown the Government of the people for a Government of the Corporations... No Guns and they are not technically illegal either...
Course it could just be the bloated red tape that all of our Government works by now. I would bet that some where there is a rule (you know how they love those) that says if a fax is recieved as A (picture of a fax flipped) then we must ask for a resubmission, and no reason given. I am even willing to bet the poor government bee felt like a jackass for even sending the message...
OR it could be that the worker bee is seriously pissed off at 1) the Government or 2) the people that are applying for patents for overwork... so they are looking for ways to screw with people./div>
What kills me is you know nothing about what is in ACTA, but your beating your chest and saying how its the right thing at the right time.
So how is it possible for you to know thats its good for the people???? Paid schill? USTR??? or your one of the koolaide drinkers that thinks everthing the government does is ok???? Which is it?
Also, sorry, but anything that effects the public and has to be "Negotiated" out of the peoples eye, using backdoors, and the like can not be good at all for the people or you wouldn't worry about the voice of the people..
And stop saying "We the People" you haven't spoken one word in support of the People.../div>
Except thats not the laws they wish to pass... the laws the Record Labels want: Pay if you take, pay if you dont take, pay if you think about a bar played in our song, hell just give us you wallet we will take what we think is fair and not bother to make any music you like anyway./div>
I would point out that the Palestinian's did not have a country before Israel either.. Not really supporting either side, both have many things to be ashamed of, but Palestine wasn't a country, it was a group that lived in part of 3 or 4 other country's that controled the region. And those groups have been fighting for about 2,000 years at this point, so its pretty ingrained in them to hate each other./div>

Re: Army of Hackers
Re: Re:
Yes, Company's have a profit motive, of course so do people, but that doesn't push them against the Constititution.
Just like people like the think everything is a Right, but do not know the Constitution beyond yelling out what ever THEY want is a "protected" Right.
The Constitution worked well for a long time in a free market society, and Companies had a need for Quarterly Profits then too.../div>
