What always gives me a sad chuckle is that these people that point to video game leading to violence act almost as if these types of video games are being pushed onto people. Want to know why so many video games exhibit so much violence? Because historically those games sell very well. That's why there are also tons of violent movies, books, and music. The other big point I try to see pushed is that video games are different because you control them, hence you are interacting on some new dangerous level. I contend that a child is just as prone to mimic a violent movie as they are a violent video game. Just depends on if you're more of a gamer or movie goer.

When I was 22 years old, I was told the results of a physical showed I had the cholesterol levels of a 40 year old man. I blame it largely on a bad fast food diet (always a skinny person so I didn't consider the risks, or didn't take them seriously).
The unnerving thing is that I was immediately being prescribed meds. Before I left I asked "Can't you lower your cholesterol through diet and exercise?". The doctor turned around and was like... oh... well, yeah. I had to basically beg for information on how to attack my condition without medication. I just think it is somewhat disturbing that it doesn't cross a doctor's mind that a 22 year old man can diet and exercise.
A physical done two years later showed no signs of elevated cholesterol whatsoever. Had I said nothing, I would probably still be shoving pills down my face.
If any of the big consoles implement this sort of protection system I will simply abstain from them. I rarely buy AAA titles anymore because they are not worth $60 to me. Period. I make a rare exception to this rule maybe once or twice a year, but it is for titles that I know the money I'm spending is worth it.
I like how Nintendo seems to be handling the second hand sale situation. Rather than making it impossible, they give you incentive to buy new. They have a Club Nintendo site where you register games you buy for points. You can redeem those points for prizes or downloadable games. You also get points for taking surveys on the games you purchased. Would this system work on everyone? Not really, but I find it rather cool to be able to give my input on games directly to Nintendo and for them to reward me when I buy their games new. Personally with the way Gamestop prices used games, I would opt to pay the extra $5 for the new copy that I can register.
I understand where game creators are coming from in this whole situation, but they need to wake up and realize you can persuade your audience to do the things you want by ADDING VALUE for the consumer to do so.
Excuse me sir, but I actually do not use the same password for any service. I have a personal algorithm based on the website or services name to randomize all my passwords. This comes from an account that I was not using. Why don't you go cry somewhere else you Blizzard fan-boy. Just because you love them doesn't mean I'm somehow stupid because they can't secure their own system.
Honestly Mike, I have to disagree with you for once. I think this lawsuit does have some legs to stand on. Let me give you an explanation. I bought World of Warcraft a while ago, haven't played it in about 3 years. In those 3 years of not playing, my account has been compromised twice. I should not have to pay them money for "extra protection" on something they should have secured in the first place. The only way I find out is I get an email that I was suspended due to spamming and then I have to contact Blizzard and explain that my account was breached.
I for one cannot stand lawsuits, but to me there is some validity to this claim.
I bought the Razer Black Adder mouse on Amazon a couple months back. After discovering I had to make a Razer account just to use their software, and 3 reboot-required updates to update a mouse driver that I JUST downloaded from their site, I promptly boxed the mouse up and returned it. If it is any consolation, Razer customer support commented on my review and said they were taking my criticisms into consideration. Bottom line, I probably would have bought a keyboard too as I was in the market for that as well. After my experience, I simply avoid their products. And yes, I bought Logitech.

Truthfully, I want to see this type of thing investigated to the fullest extent, regardless of who wins the race. This is not an excuse to whine about a candidate winning that I don't like, this is an obvious red flag and we need to start bringing the people who try to do this kind of bs to justice.

I would wager you are very correct. I personally boycotted Ubisoft games myself for a while. For example, I tried Outland months back and was genuinely intrigued by it. Opened up my Xbox Guide to buy it, saw Ubisoft, turned the game off and said "Oh well". The reality is that there are tons of great games around to play. One publisher does not have the power to curb that reality.
Now, I am not done with my boycott. But if Ubisoft puts action to their words, I might not turn the game off when I see Ubisoft next time.
And there are also a great number of people who are not happy to pay services like iTunes that in effect are giving you the right of RENTING music and not actually owning it or having the right to do what you want with it.
Some argue that it is in their Terms of Service, and they are right to that point, but then again I also find it shady and disingenuous that the button says "Buy" in iTunes. Buy and rent are two different words entirely. I would wager the vast majority of iTunes users are also unaware that they essentially have no rights to any of their collection should they die, iTunes go belly up, or any other kind of BS happens in the future regarding Apple.
You are such an evil person. How dare you step around the artificial scarcity imposed by the MPAA to limit consumer choice and maximize their profits through a government-granted monopoly? /s
