Despite having accomplished jack shit so far (vaccination rollout aside), Biden is still a better President than Trump. It's just plain sad that Trump set the bar that low.
The fact that Biden is dragging his feet on some of these things is concerning. I get that the pandemic response takes priority, but he has less than 2 years until he likely loses the Senate or the House, or god forbid both. It's not like he doesn't have people to find and vet FCC commissioners, USPS Board of Governors members, etc.
Do you really think most of them care? They want to be able to get a pet judge to sign off on a half-assed warrant so they can go fishing. If they have to go through 'normal' channels, there's a chance that Facebook or whomever it is will push back.
"And while that same law says the the government can take back taxpayer funding "equal to 1.89 times the average amount of support per location received in the support area," plus another ten percent of the carrier's total funding in that area, that often never happens."
If this is correct, it shouldn't even be that hard to get the money back. All they have to do is enforce the law. That's what pisses me off more than anything - they have the legal means to claw that money back (plus more), yet they don't do a damn thing about it.
Exactly. Trump's entire playbook consists of two words, "deflection" and "projection". Pretty much everything he accuses other people of are things he's doing himself.
My problem with Facebook, Twitter, and social media in general is that it gives people who used to be relegated to the fringes of society an easy way to reach the masses. Unfortunately there are a lot of gullible or stupid people who latch onto that garbage.
Considering this administration's flaughting of the law and legal judgements against them, they will either slow walk it or just ignore it entirely.
The truly sad part of all of this is that the US political and legal systems aren't designed to deal with a so thoroughly corrupt president like Trump, and his entire party of enablers.

Like cops need more snacks. A good number of them couldn't run 10 steps chasing a perp before dropping over.

I'm all for filling prisons with crypto-miners. Maybe then I can actually purchase a video card. ;-)

It's easier to shift blame than it is to fix the problem. Police unions and the courts are major enablers of this.

I wonder if Tom Wheeler could be convinced to return to the FCC when Biden takes over in January. That would be a nice little "fuck you" to Pai.
