LOTRO Subscribers are actually making at out pretty good. If you have a look at this forum post Here
Subscribers & Lifetime subscibers get to keep everything they already have plus we get free content updates, as well as 500 points a month to spend in the turbine store for free. Lifetimer's get it without having to pay the monthly subsciption free essentially LOTRO is paying them 500 turbine points a month to play a game they already play. Pretty sweet if you ask me.
As far as LOTRO dying it's actually doing quit well Turbine already had this in the works before WB bought them. The acquisition just went through & The beta starts on the 16th you don't develop a beta client in a matter of a months time.
Also you might wanna check out the interview with turbine Here
I don't know Mike I think your wrong about it not having a lasting effect. I know I sure haven't forgotten about Google refusing to hand over information, when both yahoo and MSN just rolled over. It was then that I decided to drop both MSN & Yahoo.
I very much prefer doing business with a company that doesn't just hand everything over as opposed to one who does.
And how does this outdo my subscription with netflix?
Netflix cost less and lets me get copies of a movie at home, plus I have the added bonus of Netflix on demand. Believe me I learned a long time ago the hard way that anything with best buys name attached is something you should stay far away from.
I don't see how they can actually charge the charge the guy, talking about suicide isn't a crime. Especially considering that the people who died didn't even live anywhere close to him.
Is the guy a doctor? if so then that holds a whole other stigma I guess, but if it's just some random person who decided to tell people how they could accomplish a goal they already had in mind, whether one agrees to it or not, seems a bit like stretching the law to fit the circumstances to me.
I don't understand this, when Techdirt had the article about WB wanting us to wait a month for their releases a bunch of commenter's were irritated by this, saying how retarded WB is and how they will just wait until the movie comes out they still aren't going to buy. Here's somebody irritated enough about it to actually try taking to them to court and all I see are comments stating that somebody is just looking for some action. TBH we should all be rooting this guy on and maybe even helping out in the hopes that we can put an end to this nonsense, chances are it won't work anyway but You don't know unless you try right?
Windows Media Center, has a built in Guide, that will download info, just get a t.v. tuner and a version of windows with media, center, BOOM built in DVR management as well as few other goodies. You can also download the Netflix plugin for media center. Then you can also download Media center studio http://www.adventmediacenter.com/ and add shortcuts which will launch boxee, hulu and whatever else media programs you want right inside media center. I have mine set up this way and it works great.
I haven't paid for cable in quite some time we do just fine between Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, boxee and our own movie collection. Cable is over rated these days and over priced. We're saving ourselves about $70.00 a month.
School in the US does nothing anyway 90% of the time, but teach our children how to be conformist. I have 3 children, all 3 struggled in regular school, and didn't do very good at all. So I pulled them out, they now attend school online, I haven't stopped them from accessing MySpace, or You Tube and their grades are better then they ever were in regular school. My Kids have even used these websites as way's to do projects for their school.
Regular Public school as we know it is outdated, and does not work for our kids. If you have kids I highly suggest putting the parenting back in your own hands and finding a way to not send your kids to regular school.
Regardless of whether they should be using the glitch or not, I think it's a bit over the top to ban them from the whole of xbox live for doing it, even if it is temporary, when a temporary game ban would suffice.
Why not block what students have to say, I mean after all they are only kids and their opinions don't matter at all. I mean we spent a good portion of their youth telling them that their opinions on various subjects don't matter, then magically one day when they graduate they are expected to have a feeling and voice opinions, and even vote..talk about mixed signals.
From what I've seen all this rippol does is provide a way to post to twitter, facebook and other social networking sites about what your watching, if Hulu was wise they would already have this functionality added to their website making this other services redundant.
Interesting that you bring up Clinton. Most of the people I know who got upset over that whole ordeal were angry about the way he handled the issue, dodging questions and splitting hairs and generally being deceptive and insincere. WHAT he did meant a whole lot less than how he handled it, and the latter DOES say a lot about his character and what we can expect to see in foreign and domestic dealings. I expect the same reaction to Social-Networking-Generation candidates who try to scrub their past: better to be upfront about where you've been than to be caught being dishonest.
You may be right about folks being upset with the way it was handled. But I don't believe the act of cheating says he'll be a bad leader. However you have a point in saying that the act of being dishonest does.
Either way people should be more honest and hopefully we are headed toward a more honest society.
I think this could be a good thing. Maybe this will shut down those politicians who seek to try an hide their pasts and paint pretty pictures.
Government has for far too long tried to keep our politicians on some pedestal. Just like when everyone freaked out over Clinton getting a blow job. Get over it all ready, it was between him and his wife, and really doesn't reflect his political views.
Bring our countries leaders down to our level and I bet in the end it has a more positive outcome than a negative one.
If the RIAA was smart they would sell all their rights back to the artists and family members of deceased artists, they could make a ton of money and go out on top....to bad they aren't that smart...
The "legitimate reasons" thing is the standard worn excuse used by torrent people (there are ligit reasons to use P2P) and music downloaders (we are just testings, it's our backup, the dog ate my original copy). In the end, it's a slack response to an obviously attempt to get something for nothing.
There are in fact legitimate reasons to torrent. I torrent My Operating System Whenever there is a new release. And Where do I get the link for the torrent you might ask, why directly from the Operating systems websites.Almost Every single legitimate Linux Operating System releases torrents of their ISO's when when they release their OS, and hold breath this might come as a shock, it's COMPLETELY LEGAL.
So I wouldn't say it's a slack response to anything there are many legitimate reasons to use torrents and their may well be many legitimate reasons to mod a cable modem
