Sometimes even the most dumb ideas can be VERY amusing. Yes, hacking is a crime, but if you have to go after heartless bastards, they 4chan picks the right ones!!
The teacher is the one that should be jailed. First of all, he has no legal grounds to invade someones property like that. That is a serious abuse of power.
I'm glad they did this. I have a Sony laptop with Blu-ray that cannot play alot of blu-ray disc's due to that damn DRM crap. I buy my dvd's and still cannot play them. The only people that DRM hurts are the ones foolish enough to pay for DVD's.
Plus, these days, if you open any computer software, you cannot bring it back for a refund. So if i were to not agree to the licensing terms, i still lose my money.
Actually, i think a counter-sue of entrapment should be in order. When a website freely offers a share button, but then sues anyone that uses it.... i think counter-suing for damages is very appropriate
This is exactly what happens when the law is driven by 100% political purposes. AG's have realized if they make headlines, they get money and votes. If companies/private citizens make the state pay up each and every time the AG's say/do something that is quite obviously outside their realm of jurisdiction, it will become to costly to have them as AG's. My advice, sue for 100 million for each and every comment/allegation they make.
With this courts decision, mabe someone can make the legal argument that they are now responsible for all replacements free of charge. I just wish someone with the means, does.
So, on that logic, if i 'bought' a cd of any software from Best Buy and that disc becomes scratched, can i get a full replacement since i can no longer use it? Who do i sue for those rights? If i am merely renting it, someone should replace it when my 360 game scratches.
If we are not in the country, how can the us government search us? They have jurisdiction in our country, not out of it!! So, either we ARE under US jurisdiction and they can search us, or we are not under US jurisdiction and they cannot search us. Saying that, since they search us, we should have certain protections afforded us by the US constitution.
I PAID to download a new cd for my kid. If i did not have a decent internet speed, that would have never happened. I also know for a fact that i dont get to any kind of music store very often to by it thru the store. This is why we need good broadband speeds, to make everything consumer friendly, esp for those of us that hate going out into public.
Then they have to factor in liability. If someone were hit by a person with that pass, could they sue the state for allowing someone to exceed the posted limit?
