So if DaVinci shared some of his ideas, instead of hiding them, others could have helped/improved on those ideas and sped up innovation. DaVinci could have been alive to see his inventions actually benefit mankind. Nice try shill!
Oh! And the computer thing. What? If that is a case for pro-patent/copyright then you will be losing fast.
Many developments in communication and computer hardware have been based on looking at patents and other public annoucements, finding out it is possible, and moving forward.
So patent and copyright collections are a place to put your ideas so others see them and they can be used to innovate? A place to share ideas? Sorry, I used the word share. I know, it stings.
To the contrary. We have seen patent after patent of overly broad processes which have been used to stop innovators, to make lawyers rich. When somebody comes up with an innovation and it happens to infringe on one of these patents the first thing the patent owner does is try to shut down the innovative work. That's progress, ain't it!

The local paper always picks a straight Dem ticket with exception of one Republican in a county district running for State House of Representatives where the Republican is a sure win. Then if there are more than one Democrat running in an area, they pick the woman or racial minority candidate. Gotta love the process!

Re: A Shill in the Morning
the GOA says that the numbers suggest a smaller problem, but they aren't sure
Well nobody can be absolutely sure but at least the numbers are realistic.
Oh, and the protectionist thing. ACTA is a multinational trade agreement most likely highly favoring the 'rights' of copyright holders in the nations with the most power/money involved. So your definition holds true and protectionism is happening.

Letters to all!
Why don't they just send a letter out to everyone? Everyone is guilty of 'stealing' some sort of copyrighted material in their eyes; music, movies, news, etc. With 25% returns they will be in the $$$.
Of course, you borrowed the books for your classes then and you personally never had to buy the replacement. You would just return your book at the end of the year/semester. Now the school on the other hand would have to update their texts.
Ummm...this is an online, multiplayer game. He doesn't have to physically be anywhere other than a home/office computer with an internet connection and in a game with the fans to fulfill his promise.
When will schools say 'Enough!'?
All we need is a netbook for each child and WiFi hubs on school grounds. We can access thorough information on any topic that teachers can approve on websites for free. We can access newspaper and magazine articles for free. I am certain that the cost of maintaining a WiFi connection would be peanuts when compared with the costs of textbooks that are "Edition" changes with little change happens besides the art on the cover. Sadly, the schools will in turn, go to the government and get more money to pay these copyright collectors. And the government will gladly increase your taxes...you know...'for the children.'
Ignore?
You obviously went to the site. I went because you said the games were stupid. In my opinion, they look as good and pointless as all the other internet games out there. I wonder how many more will check it out because you rose such a stink about it. In fact, the link to the site is only in his name. He makes no other link in his post nor even throws out the name of the company. A lot better than some other comment makers with four or five links to each of their little project websites.
Now I can go back to not watching Warner Music videos on YouTube like I was able to nine months ago. But if Disney gets all those old Donald Duck cartoons taken down...
Too bad the rest of the goofball politicians are clamoring to pass anti-bullying legislation in their respective states. That way they can come down on the Lori Drews of the future. "For the children" of course.
