I know nothing makes me want to speak highly of a hotel like getting kicked out of it. Much better response than talking to them and understanding what could make their stay more pleasant.
I really suspect the exchange here is not movie for money, it's select movie screening for information. I really think the survey is the key here. I'm a bit surprised Mike didn't go there. He always talks about how focusing on the money can make you miss other value trades.
But mainly I suspect these guys know what they are doing.

You're right that you've been able to download apps for a very long time. It's not a new market for the cell phone providers it's a new market for application developers. Prior to the iPhone the ability for some random programmer to deliver an application to a phone was almost non existent (as much as I like Java, Java ME was a failure in the phone market). And now with Android it's even better.
This is still a very new market for general mobile applications.

I was going to make the same point, but you beat me to it. I'd be surprised if most people had more than a half dozen apps on their computer that they use on a regular basis.
I would expect the number apps in use to go up as network speed/reliability, battery life, and phone processor speeds go up, but not in a huge way. This also has to do with it being a new market that people are still trying to find out how people use their phones so they can deliver software that really works for the users.
The only thing those rules have done is change the language from:
"Kids! Ask your parent to buy you..."
To:
"Make sure to get your parents permission for ..."
Both ways can be solved with one simple word that many 'parents' seem to have forgotten.
Maybe a little more relevant to the folks here (or maybe not). What if System 76 bought an HP with Windows 7 and checked all the boxes for any random additional crapware HP can tag on. Then gifted that computer to... yeah, really not sure here.

Although if a competitors product is truly inferior you could probably get some interesting results by sending around their product and then follow up with your product some weeks later. Get those reactions going around.
If I remember correctly BMI was created to get around having to pay fees to the existing agency.
Why is it taking so long to setup a new agency to cover CC music and offer nice low fees for commercial use? Given the modern tech it could even offer ala-cart pricing for specific situations so simple blanket licenses.
Hell it could probably start with a handful of musicians and one guy with a decent web site...

It would probably be far more practical to color the taillights red than to buy a new car. I would think he would also have some recourse against the dealer, assuming he bought it in MD. If he bought it out of state and brought it in, it's all on him.

The biggest problem in my mind is we've completely steamrolled over the 10th amendment

although the 9th amendment is also fairly relevent here
