It's not just a question of smarts though. Just pulling numbers from my hat but EA might have 10-20 persons working on drm. How many fanatic crackers in the world would love to be the first one to break a DRM from EA?
Fanatics and numbers wins over paid salary man almost every time.
Some of us are reading our feeds from computer, phone, tablet, fridge and so on. We need and want to have or list synced so that we know what's new and/or unread. Somewhere a that point you need a server.
Relying on a single a provider is not the issue here in my opinion. Of course, if Google went belly up I would be in trouble but every single isolated company I could use instead could just as well (or more likely) suddenly drop dead.
The problem here is cloud services, that we don't own the product and/or the product isn't open source. This makes us vulnerable to a single point of failure. RSS is an open standard but still people are in pickle because Google did the ecosystem around RSS well enough. Whenever we don't have the server in our own house we are vulnerable to a sudden shut down. And even then we could have a power outage or loss of internet connection.
Just to clarify a bit Piratpartiet didn't stop hosting The Pirate Bay. TPB chose to move from the Swedish pirate party so as to not force them to make the choice.
Swedish media on the other hand claims that Piratpartiet simply folded.
Not sure how it works in the US but in Sweden the authors gets payed a small sum every time book is borrowed from the library. So in that case yes the authors do get paid.
Why would they go to such lengths? http://xkcd.com/538/

Can't decided if your post should be rated funny or insightful. The amount of stories on Techdirt regarding stupid companies and persons has left me with a permanent palm shaped mark in my face...
Never mind the connector but isn't it insane to use this device? It really doesn't feel like a good idea to leave your device lying around in direct sunlight...
Oh oh, new business idea or something!
They should sue the bakers! I bet the creators of this nefarious 3-d patent infringing machine has eaten bread. And the bakers should have known that and not sell them any products. Shame on them!
Part of the problem here is the confusion by people outside of "the scene". A hacker has become the same as a cracker/phreaker/phisher for most people.
Not that many remember anymore that hackers originally where people who liked to tinker with stuff. Make them do things never intended. They are the mashup artists of the hardware world...
Actually, I think that is called a "pawn shop". But as I wrote higher up in an other comment. This isn't about stealing so don't mix up the lingo. This is more like if Apple had sued stores for selling Samsung phones.
And sure, if the judges rule in Apples favor because of their revolutionary round corners and what not then they might take action against stores as well
Since there usually is an extra 15$ to ship to Europe it made sense for us to get together and support a project as a group. I hope they will revoce these new rules and implement more moderate ones.
Silly rabbit, of course under valued is good. Didn't you get the memo? What is good, bad, evil and morally right has been redefined to better harmonize with the interest of the stockholders and gamblers. I know you agree, you're not a communistic child molesting pirate terrorist are you?

Single provider not the issue
