This is a common misconception made. I remember running into this very problem in college only instead of "influence" it was "leadership". I was denied a RA position becuase I didn't talk enough in the group interview process. What I said has great impact but no I did not just talk to hear my own voice.
Just like here more activity does not equal more influence. It can increase the chance to be influential but also increases your chance to irrelevant. I find that when people mindlessly tweet that it becomes annoying.
I don't understand this since I know these are sold in the US. They are popular in Germany and my friend who is from there found them here in St. Louis. He bought one for everyone in the group that day. How could they be sold in the US if they are banned. Unless this ban is VERY recent (last 6 months) then somewhere someone got mixed up on this.
An Australian Horror film called The Tunnel did the same thing where they sold each frame of the film to make a handsome profit and are now releasing the film through torrents everywhere in 2011. Their poster even includes the name of everyone who paid the $1 to get a frame of the movie they made. It was a genius way to fund a film honestly.
Don't these people understand that if Cablevision gives into whatever high price Fox demands that their cable bill in turn goes higher? Why sue cablevision for fighting for a fair rate to help their customers? Am I missing something here?
I would say it was more then just a conversation. She purposely set this all up because this girl stopped being friends with her daughter. She built it up like some guy was interested in her then shot her down with comments that were cruel and mean. As an adult she should have known better. This is just helicopter parenting at it's worst.
On that note though I am glad this is being dropped as it was such a stretch that it was rediculous. What she did was wrong but if she didn't break a law then she didn't break a law.
I smell a Disney publicity stunt but for what purpose? Seems odd obviously but are they coming up with a court room drama to teach kids about copyright law and this the grass roots effort getting under way? You can tell I am always suspicious.
I will never understand why more people are not upset about lobbyists being so prevelant in our government. It seem rediculous that this is allowed and that the person with the most money, gets the most lobbyists, gets the most laws passed in their favor. Just look at AT&T.
Anyone who has used real player knows that it's spamerific junk. Come on now. It's horrible and should go away not get stronger. This is definatly not a good thing in my books.
