I always wonder why they simple don't use common sense.
Like at the airport you can buy a bottle of drink but due to rush you can leave it unopened and it gets seized. No matter you have the purchase receipt, it is still sealed, and the sales lady can testify you just purchased it.
I suspect they may give to back to the airport shop to sell to the next "mug"
The obvious way to tell this liquid is what it is would be to open the bottle and smell the contents. I am sure most of us know what water or fizzy orange smells like. Most forms of chemicals and explosives would also stand out.
Then in any unfamiliar liquid doubt they can have the passenger drink some when their reaction would be quite telling.
They have made Argon Plasma Engines to move crew and cargo more quickly (and the ISS) but the problem is the 1+Megawatt power requirements. Get some real high power and you can then use an array to cruise the solar system.
Currently they plan to use one with large solar arrays to move large cargo mass between Earth orbit and Luna orbit. It would take weeks on pulsed battery charge thrusting but it is very efficient.
As to landing 40 to 80 tons on Mars then I always say they won't have a real answer until they have a real plan with a real problem. Since no one has a project to land this mass on Mars then that is why there is no budget to solve the problem.
Also it is never good to describe NASA in terms of current technology when every single space mission they do leads to implementing new technology.
Yes it would be interesting if SpaceX can make Mars first but their estimates are normally far too generous even if they get their in the end. The real first goal of commercial space should be a free return trip around the Moon.
NASA ix usually flying worms or some small creatures. Most interesting is that they don't take their astronauts beyond a six month ISS stay.
It is good to see people like David Seaman trying to get SOPA and the NOAA into the mainstream news or for other important businesses to take a stand against this injustice.
He clearly seems to have annoyed them in some way. It seems odd to ban him, unban him and then complain to his employer who seems to have agreed even if to keep NBC happy. He was using a business account it seems.
Beyond that then since I did not see this full exchange I can't say for sure what has gone on here.
They seem to be pressing ahead with PIPA. All the vote on the 24th does is to end the filibuster. Win or lose they would have whatever time they desire to modify PIPA. If the filibuster ends though they are likely to aim for a quick vote pending small modifications.
Only one part of this car could not be printed but people are working hard on having fully printable cars with easy assembly. It seems only a matter of time before full cars can be done. Then the best 3D printers can print with plastic, metal, water, wood and much more.
Whenever I see spelling on punctuation mistakes this always reminds me of that movie "The Secretary" where he punished her mistakes with a spanking over her boss's desk.
Oh and what if FaceBook go down? I expect most of their regulars would freak out like WW3. Some people I know have even urged eBay and PayPal to join this blackout but these two go beyond my belief.
Wikipedia (Wikimedia) sure is a big site but there are bigger fish in that sea and asking them to sign up may prove fruitful.
I discovered the poll results earlier by accident while checking through who joined this SOPA/PIPA blackout and who did not. It was a very close tie between full site blackout and a top banner announcement but I was glad to spot a full English language blackout.
I did not spot their part about 24 hour blackout when I only noticed the approval for the 18th.
Well this is sure a great start in giving them a day they will never forget. I have already been going around asking sites like FaceBook to join this strike. I joke this could make good "nuclear blackout" recovery testing for their employees.
Wikipedia is a very big site but you have to wonder if Mark Zuckerberg really has "balls" big enough to take out his FaceBook creation? Scared are we? Chicken? Recovery possible? We shall see.
I always liked watching the Nordic countries when their standard movie stations usually featured a soft porn movie every night between about 10pm and 1am.
Now if you want to see porn with quality then no country does better than France. They well know that it is not what you do but how you package it and they are quite artistic.
Italy and Spain are hot enough but the UK and Germany have had more than their fair share of censorship. In the UK it is not uncommon to see nudity as part of a movie after 10pm.
I think we do have a different culture here when of course Europe has plenty of nudist beaches but the United States do not.
I always find that people need to separate out two aspects of nudity.
First is that simply removing one's clothes is not a sexual act when this is naturalism and is simply who you are. If everyone walked around naked all day long then you would quickly get used to it and it would soon be boring if not "flabby bits" being distasteful. This "boring" in terms of "common" is why naked statues are ignored.
Only when there is genital stimulation in some form does this simply nudity become sexual.
Now the problem here is that most people are not used to nudity and when someone disrobes before them this usually only proceeds the sexual act. So they have come to train themselves that nudity is strongly linked to sexual.
My point about a woman's naked butt on TV is what would you expect to see? Most of us know what the butt of a woman looks like and that was a good match. I am sure much mdore people would be shocked if we saw a hair covered butt or even green scales.
I don't believe nudity has any age rating. This is simply who we are and it is best to get used to it. All audiences all the time.
In many ways clothing can be more erotic where lingerie is a good example. More standard clothing has colours and styles to enhance appearance. Even women pad their bras while men can load extra into their underpants.
Then we come to prudes who spend their life devoid of nudity and as luck would have it they are in charge of censorship.
The PIPA debate and vote to continue goes through the Senate January 23rd and 24th. SOPA could not gain enough support and has been permanently suspended.
Yes and this is why we should take down as much as the Internet on the 18th as is possible. Give these people a day they will never forget.
Remember the blackout is 8am to 8pm EST. I have already personally requested that FaceBook and Google join in but we shall see. My own websire sure is joining in.
Wikipedia from that I have seen have voted for a total site blackout but it was very close call with a top banner opposition instead.
My greatest wish now is that the Internet service to Washington can be pulled if not to leave this city in darkness.
"but focus solely on illegal conduct, which is not free speech"
Now there is a false statement.
To have hundreds of millions of people break the law is the greatest act of free speech when this is democracy in action screaming out that the law is wrong.
What about former alcohol prohibition when does their voice mean nothing when so many broke the law? Just a bunch of criminals with no free speech found here? Stamp them out like bugs? Nope when their defiance of an unjust law changed the law when alcohol is not a problem for responsible adults.
File-sharing is much the same when since it has caused little real damage so far then this is all opposition to unjust laws that equally has grown into political and religious rights.
Thieves sure won't go hungry what with modern flat screen digital TVs. Grab and run. Then you have nice little iPads and modern smart phones to slip into their swag bag.
3D printers are on the rise when you can now buy one between $1000 and $2000. In a few years time they should be below $500 and then every home can get one.
The future world is all sharing with copyright and patents largely ignored. You can print out (in plastic) anything you want if you have the right files.
Home models can of course only print small items like lego bricks and coat hangers up to a small vase but it is only a matter of time before entire cars can be download and printed on commercial versions.
If someone stole your car then it would not be too much hassle to print out another but they should still be printing out their own.
Just for this one movie "War Horse" you can see that some countries have to wait up to 3 month after the US release to see this at their cinema. People wanting to watch this movie have two choices, either to wait a few months, or to download immediately the copy on TPB and other sites.
This is hardly a hard choice for them. Subtitles optional.
The copyright side lie so much that it would not surprise me if they hired the stall that got busted.
Markets do have a big counterfeit problem these days due to a vast replica array from China. You want your fake designer handbag or shoes then you know where to shop. Things got so productive there that factories have started up in the UK where the employees are not aware they assemble fakes.
One entire market even got closed when even after a Police raid they simply restocked their stalls and were back in business within the hour.
China cares little for copyright, trademarks and patents so if they spot a sweet profit area then they go for it. Not many would aim for counterfeit CDs and DVDs though when it is a lot of work for little profit.
