I know what the Tea Party stands for...contradictory beliefs like much of the other movements. They're against big government trampling our freedoms unless it is for the principles they champion.

I have read somewhere that the machines are also set to randomly alarm even if there isn't really an object so they can get their random grope quota in. Rand Paul even lifted his pant leg to show the part of his leg where the supposed "terrorist instrument" was detected. Knowing about the random alarm he suspected it to be just that...a search without reasonable cause.

I think a lot of Tea Partiers think the war is good and there are lots of terrorists just waiting to blow up the next bus full of children. Bachmann is supposedly Tea Party...turning gays straight thru hypnotism and all.

Technocracy
Not surprising since Congress still has the little toy train for the Sens/Reps to ride into and out of the Capitol Building. I've also been hitting a couple state capitol buildings. I recall one tour guide nearly bragging that they just recently updated the voting buttons at the senators seats to show their yay/nay up on an electronic scoreboard and that they just got rid of the little light bulbs up there. They didn't use a wireless solution.
I wouldn't say this is widespread. My mom works for the USDA and was assigned a laptop that seemed pretty top of the line. They also can work from home on the laptop logging into their network via internet connection. Along with the government issued Blackberry's before the whole smartphone idea took off I would say that is a decent level of tech integration/adoption. I would suspect some departments just lack proper management for procurement and integration.

Ummm...PIPA/SOPA create an even larger net to include more and more linking 'pirates' around the world, ergo using current laws/treaties to extradite 'criminals'.

Re: The Miniature "Auto" assembly line
I have been in the SEL protection relay plant here in the US where they manufacture their relays through pretty much robotic assembly lines. This system can create several types of boards based on programming of the system. Sure there are a couple components that the robotic assembly line can't do and is assembled by hand. And they manufacture a a wide range of relays that do lots of different things. So I would think that you wouldn't have to build a specialized robot for one specific assembly gesture when you can build one with generalized purposes that can be tweaked for changing component design. Especially when that design changes only slightly from year-to-year. Then have human assembly for things the robots can't do.

What Do MC Hammer & Tim Berners-Lee Have In Common?
I was really hoping it was black parachute pants with various colors of neon paint splattered on them and suspenders with no shirt.

You don't have to use a gun to assassinate somebody. =]
Can you use a gun to protect yourself from somebody coming to take away your rights? Certainly! You may be killed and portrayed as a nut by government controlled media but ultimately, who is the assassin?
