Any time a post title is phrased thusly: "Is [government noun] out of touch" or some other similar phrasing, the answer is always yes.
They got to be where they are by being out of touch. If anyone who's at least a little bit in touch with us peasants were to retain that connection and also serve in an official governmental capacity in any of the branches...well, they'd go crazy and start shooting/maiming/kicking/waterboarding their co-workers, for the good of the people.
Absolutely, give smaller/indie/unsigned bands a shot. I'm sure that I'll get back into new music eventually (how can one not?) but...for now, I'm just tired. All of this stuff just puts me off.
Keep on suing, record labels. Keep it up. You're just putting your own methods (and quite possibly your industry as you know it) into the ground. And good riddance. Keep it goin'.
I just...I'm sick of it. I don't watch TV any more. I don't watch movies any more. I don't go get new music. I don't buy new books, I just go to the library.
I used to like watching some TV shows when I had the time. I used to like taking my girlfriend to the movies or buying movies for us to watch. I used to like finding new music. I used to like filling up my bookshelves. I can't let myself do any of those things anymore. All of this money-grabbing greed-driven fucking bullshit has simply put me off of almost all media.
And you know what? It's the best goddamned thing I could have ever done for myself. My girlfriend and I take our library books to the park and read them. We hike. We go see live theater. It's wonderful. I've lost 12 pounds. My girlfriends buttcheeks firmed up.
Fuck big media, remove them from your lives. You'll fucking love it.
We think it's time that Congress showed that its votes are no longer for sale.
That's the thing, votes are for sale, have been for a loooong time and it's gonna stay that way until we start putting them in prison for life for the shit. Senators and congress critters suffer no real consequences for these things.
We need to set an example. We need to string one up.
Well, let's go ahead and take the movies vagina (and possibly the butthole too, some people amirite?) to a hospital, have 'em break out a rape kit and fus-ro-dah that shit and if the test comes back positive for seminal secretions or other foreign DNA then sure, rape happened. If not, then I think we can safely blast this old crone out of a circus cannon into the Atlantic.
So far the only good thing to come from SOPA is that I know which companies definitely shouldn't get my money, now.
Before SOPA it could be a little tricky and research-intensive to find out which companies are "bad" and which ones are "good." Now, armed with a list of SOPA supporters, it's easy as shit to tell who's bad.
If my daughter were missing and ended up being deported to fucking Columbia because ICE fucked up...I would demand blood. No joke. Just a pint or two from someone at ICE, something to keep in the freezer for the 10th anniversary of the deportation.
They can still eat shit. They aren't getting my domains back. I like it when large companies feel us pinch. It may be selfish and immature, but it's still nice to know that we can sometimes kinda-sorta a little bit somewhat fight back.
