A gift
Hypothetical: I live in, say Kentucky, and I order a book on Amazon.com and have it shipped to my cousin in NC as a gift.
Just because an item was shipped to a NC address doesn't mean it was purchased in NC. In fact, if I did buy from Amazon (not one of the many, many sellers using their services) wouldn't I technically only need to pay tax to the state in which Amazon's business is established.

I remember back when I had a cassette/FM radio Walkman that when the battery power was too weak to play the cassette I could always default over to an FM station for five or six hours more of music (and commercials). Now my cars have CD players, mp3 player inputs, and AM/FM radio. Never listen to the radio. If you add this to these devices they will be essentially ignored by the users as Mike does. Sorry NAB, you will have to get the government to mandate listening to your transmissions to make this work.
I just went to the library and borrowed the Chronological Donald: Volumes 1 through 4 for free! As far as I can tell, lots of other people in town are doing this, too. Better shut down the library, evil sharers of copyrighted works.
WHAT!? Mike is a hypocrite?! TAM, you finally convinced myself and the rest of the people reading this blog that we have been lied to, cheated of eyeballs, and told lies about the content industry, patents, and copyrights. We are all leaving now, never to return. Feel no need to monitor Mike's blog anymore since you won't need to protect us from blindly following him into the abyss. We are deeply indebted to you for you diligence.
How do we send a bunch of letters to "John Doe"s without identifying them? Surely, USCG gets the mailing list followed by the typical shakedown letter.

Re: You don't own your data
Just because they have a ToS doesn't make it legally enforceable. Think about the battle in court that will need to be done if there was a squirmish over a picture you store on Facebook and sell to somebody else to use. You own the copyright on the photo, Facebook can't take that from you just because their ToS says they can.

It is hard to see why anyone would pay for such lackluster web page design, especially an elected official.
