because at this point me and countless others are fighting a losing battle against BLATANT censorship. their is no difference at this point as to whether all these court rulings make me and countless others victims of mine and others free speech. the RIAA and the MPAA have blatantly made the laws that SILENCES ME./div>
hmm manufacturing a terrorist plot = those responsible need to be brought to justice since they have committed a crime (or at least are complicit for creating a crime)/div>
thanks DOJ/MPAA/RIAA and all the others. you have by your actions CENSORED ME! the government has now BY LAW decided my political speech is to be silenced. >./div>
yet another company to boycott. what a shame capcom. you lost me as a customer. though I never played your games anyways! good riddance, see you in bankruptcy some day :-)/div>
personally I smell a massive lawsuit Against I.C.E for kidnapping/illegal detainment/and whatever else a responsible attorney can think up. maybe now I.C.E will learn to do their primary job so much better ;-)/div>
and by "they made" I mean original work. not just a remix but something that BY LAW is copy protected. even my comments FYI is an example of that copy protected content. if the government seized this website for instance (doubt it would happen, just a hypothetical) all the comments we have made would then amount to them censoring us. think of that people. THAT IS WHY we are all up in arms here!/div>

if you wish to support SOPA/PIPA/protect IP then, you are supporting Censorship. end of story.
if you support the seizure of web domains with out due process of law you support Censorship. the reason for this is simple. anybody could and I bet Has published something they made of interest to the readership of a website. when the government seizes and takes that web domain down, they have censored that persons free speech!/div>
if E-PARASITE 1 thing that will cease to exist is anything GNU/LINUX Related since US CoC says its infringing already!
2nd thing that will cease to exist is any form of protest on youtube/google/any other site that allows comments.
3rd thing that will happen is that the real pirates, namely ALL the malware authors will start eroding what little security we have any more on the internet.
sounds fun right? where will I and many others be able to make MY VOICE, MY VIDEOS, MY COMMENTS heard? this is the true scenario that mike and others are talking about! and yes it will make "pirating" possibly disappear however it will come at a cost that would make all of us sit up and cry NO!/div>
if it worked as promised maybe it might be ok. thing is though this whole debacle is a classic bait and switch! also let me ask you this, why is DRM around when under the law it takes the rights of so many people away? case in point would be me wanting to make a commentary/voice over of the movie. CAN'T do that since well you can't change it with out breaking the law! DRM IS DEFECTIVE BY DESIGN!/div>
the problem I see is sony would even take something like experiablog.net. any name the blog took would get the nasty grams. they now are in a no win scenario and never mind WHAT will sony now do with the site? NOTHING!/div>
interesting and in before the trolls. if you create something new the RIAA/MPAA will take you down even though what they are doing amounts to libel. hope somebody like this will sue them for libel/defamation ;-)/div>
well good that GEMA is in for another smack down. GEMA is now the, and I use the term loosely; "PIRATE". if on one hand you wish to use the following terms to describe all the parties that do digital infringement, namely "freetards", Pirates, thieves, theft, or others; then when a person puts out something and the collective "industry" decides to do the same then THEY MUST be called the same things! GEMA saying they OWN something that they don't is committing all the things they are accusing others of! >./div>
simply put on police brutality, they should be tried as traitors since they swore to protect the people and defend the constitution and have knowingly broken that vow!/div>
well I wonder when the lawsuits for false imprisonment and police brutality/harassment/and whatever else the lawyers guild might think up will happen :-). my personal opinion is that the police/government will lose out on this 1./div>
mike is pointing out the direct cost of patent trolls sucking money from companies/individuals that actually create. if you wish think of it this way simply. for each dollar made 50 cents is then taxed by the trolls. where that money goes IS NOT AN ISSUE! all the actual inventors/creators are losing out and having NO desire to then make things causing less innovation./div>
let us say for the moment that one of the admins of a supposed "INFRINGING" site decides he will put a video denouncing all the profits and tax abuse that the RIAA/MPAA does. he posts this video on his site, and tells the sites users to spread this far and wide. his site is pulled by ICE and his video taken down. has a 1st amendment violation happened? this is just 1 possible way for his civil rights to be taken away. another is a user of the site does the same thing. its all the same under the law. censorship in ANY capacity is wrong. no matter whether a site WHICH HAS never stood a day in court to even be tried for ANYTHING has been censored./div>
finally a good part against WB/RIAA/MPAA! the agreement that WB makes when they use the provided tool constitutes a contract which the court should uphold. and then maybe just maybe WB is kicked out from lawsuit when they are sued by all affected parties!/div>
"So what the judge is saying is that any lawyer in any civil case who offers a "settlement before going to court" is somehow a money grubber?"
actually I believe its more the fact that the court should not be a "Collection Agency" for the lawyers and others. ask yourself this, What is the purpose of the court?
Wow.
"I would say that the judge needs to look at the other side, and see that massive copyright infringement is taking away millions of dollars from the useful arts.(citation needed, WHERE is this loss of million of dollars coming from; the public sure would LOVE to know) Perhaps a little balance might clear up the judge's clearly clouded vision."
and by balance what do you mean? the fact that he should proceed to just give the IP address info? or the fact that joining together separate parties and creating a class action lawsuit would be best? the court is in the business of justice and that usually means giving the parties a chance to actually get justice. if the court believes each individual should be tried separately then others that's fine by me since actual justice happens.
I wonder when people will sue the government/MPAA/RIAA
